Weddings : The Nigerian Way

I dont know too much about how its done in other parts of the world,but having a wedding  here in Nigeria, when its all said and done , we throw down one hell of a SHINDIG!!! 



Yes there are the calm moments, where everything is cool and fine .

The preist is preaching

They are taking their vows and all that nice stuff

But when the parents and thier friends, have retired , you'l notice cos there wont be a sea of geles (head ties) and the DJ and  traditional musicians  break out their kit, of course with a little alcohol in the system, 




Things like this happen

Some great guy breaks out the Champagne

Money gets thrown around .. here we call it "spraying". everyone gets into a moolah throwing frenzy,

most of it ends up on the floor anyway.

Very unusual dance moves get invented

Things start to heat up very quickly

At which point, the bride and groom join in on the fun

Things escalate to a whole new level, when the groom hears his favourite song

Even Usain Bolt Makes An Appearance

Things reach a fever pitch

And then keeps going on some more , till it becomes a day that will stay with you for the rest of your life

In the end if you ever find yourself in Nigeria, and a friend says "hey, lets go for this wedding " , don't even hesitate, Grab your things and head towards probably one  the best parties you'l ever experience. How do I know? ... I know cos that's me up there .
