INDIA Through my eyes!

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
India through my eyes, hopefully will help you look at the fun and the colorful side of India, and take you through a journey where food, people and the places celebrate their existence together to bring to you INDIA.
This Blog is about a place called MUMBAI, a very important city in India. It homes the famous "BOLLYWOOD" some famous harbors and beaches, ancient British Buildings, and its the most populated city in INDIA.

Colorful syrups lined up in a row, usually soaked in crushed ice . Indian Name : GOLA! Gola is sold mostly all over Mumbai, especially at the beaches. The crazy number of flavors will sure make your head turn.

Cricket is India's most favorite game as you all know. The number of enthusiasts that gather on the beach every weekend to play a game with friends, feels like the city never sleeps. Cricket is celebrated in Mumbai, JUHU Beach, Mumbai.

The Victoria Terminus is a Train Station built in 1887 when India's first steam engine puffed out! Above the  building stands Lady Victoria, the building is still kept safe as it is a treasured monument in Mumbai. (Night shot)

This Victoria terminus is said to be one of the busiest places in  India, and the shot of this during the day, will  give you a further enhancement of this splendid piece of architecture.
A famous snack called PANI PURI, and if you ever come to India, please do not forget to try . It is very tangy in taste and flavored with all the Indian spices, might just set your tongue on fire.
The place to have a good beer and other liquor too, one of the oldest pubs called the Mondegar, Now what you see is a very famous wall painting by an artist known as Mario Miranda. The painting depicts the various personalities in Mumbai.

The GATEWAY OF INDIA was built by the Britishers during their stay, and is said to be the entrance to MUMBAI through the seas. The monument was erected in 1924,  The last British troops to leave India following India's independence, the first Battalion of the Somerset Light Infantry, passed through the gateway on their way out in a ceremony on 28 February 1948, signalling the end of  its rule.
A closer look at the beautiful carvings on the Gateway of INDIA, and a sneak peek through the door to the very famous  HOTEL TAJ, one of the most expensive hotels in India and still houses antique Indian architecture.

A man just sitting outside a small tuck shop,  this is very regularly practiced all over India, as Indians love just whiling away time, and love to just sit and watch the road with a hot glass of Coffee or tea.

Mumbai is a huge contrast in itself, the beautiful city has a uniqueness due to the old, antique buildings which remain untouched. these buildings have a lot of character and have many stories to say. This attracts many photographers to play with light and to add value to a photograph.

Mumbai is famous for the very entertaining Bollywood, film industry and I found this old technicolor poster, a very old movie called Mother India (1957).

Marine drive- MUMBAI

The breathtaking view of the ocean across the beautiful city,
makes me fall in love with INDIA all over again.
